Welcome to Sunset Heights

This is where the house will go.

Well the work is underway to build our house. We're starting to get an idea what the finished site will look like.
There was a terrible microburst that went through the area on Saturday. This tree toppled over and fell right where our porch will soon be. Others were not so lucky. We hear that cars were damaged, buildings were crushed and trees fell all over the area. Posted by Picasa

Catching Frogs

Ali and Emily were catching frogs in our brook. We have an abundance of wild life nearby. We can hear the coyotes howling in the distance sometimes. Two nights ago we saw a deer run into our neighbor's fields. Posted by Picasa

Freedom of Speech

As I said in my last post, the theme of the parade was patriotism, This was my favorite float, that had quotes about patriotism. I'll let the content on the images speak for themselves. Posted by Picasa

Scenes from the Annual Fairlee-Orford 4th Of July Parade

Alison is enjoying the parade, and is waiting to catch the candy that is thrown her way.
A highlight for our family is all the antique fire trucks, unique floats and bands. The theme for this year was patriotism. Hundreds of people from miles around came for the festivities. Being at a parade like this in a small town in New Hamshire sure made me feel patriotic. Every year there is a flyover by the jats from the Vermont National Guard. These very same pilots also were part of the festivities on the Esplanaude in Boston. If you watched the Pops on Channel four Boston tonight you saw the same planes we saw thismorning in Orford, NH.

The Orford Democratic party had a wonderful float. Posted by Picasa

Happy 4th of July!

Wishing you and yours a happy Independence Day! As you can see we have our first flagpole at Sunset Heights. We always had a flag pole over at the old place, and that's only one of the many traditions that we are carrying on. Posted by Picasa
